                    I am under the impression that Chennai was originally called Madarasipattinam, and then it was called Chennaipattinam...If this is indeed correct, then when have a name change from Madras to Chennai?

                    Personally, I liked Madras better...what about you?

                      Of course, we all frequently come across the term Thayir Sadam, referring to people from Tamilnadu...are all Tamilians referred to as thyair sadam, or is this term specifically applicable to Brahmins (for obvious reasons)?
