Myself and venu will be there tomorrow for a meeting with a top shot from the ITC...hope he provides us tasty organic food for breakfast at this excellent hotel
Azhagu, that is for you man...do something so that we can edit our posts!
Chennai Runners*
Am unable to edit my posts!
Will be participating in this for sure, an opportunity to go all over IIT M after 20 years!
:-P
Only Raja and Kani can afford to buy these sarees (and of course, now Sumukhi)
"the 42-year-old Chennai born champion, who had shifted to Malaga in Spain, was visibly cheerful. "It's flattering. I will have some connection with a hundred people. I glad," he said, shaking hands and speaking to some of the patients who had undergone the surgery.
Many of the patients had traveled from tiny villages from across the country.
Doctors at the Agarwal Eye Hospital weren't doing it for the first time. Ten years ago, they began doing similar surgeries named after Sachin Tendulkar. Since then, over 1,000 people have undergone free surgeries under the Tendulkar's free cataract surgery scheme. "That's the way we celebrate victory. Every year, we send names and pictures of the patient to Tendulkar," said hospital chairman Dr Amar Agarwal." - http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-09-15/chennai/33862240_1_free-cataract-surgeries-hospital-chairman
These guys are an inspiration..I had my Laser Lasik at Agarwal Hospital over 10 years back and I had met Amar Agarwal as well as his dad Jaiveer Agarwal...hats off to them...we native chennaites have a lot from these folks who came from elsewhere but are doing sterling service and are doing the city proud
Will they also provide tea, coffee and snacks in the boardroom and provide us with a COPorate brochure?
Now I know where I will hang around when I am doing nothing in life - which is, most every hour!
wow!
Wow! I did not know this group existed...will surely get in touch with them as well as perhaps join in a run or two
Thanks sreejas, this is an excellent update for me
Thanks sreejas for posting this wonderful article...I run - ahem, I try to run, and running 5 Kms is tough for an amateur. 10 is the best I have been able to make at a stretch. Full marathon for an amateur? Very difficult! Ultra marathon - unimaginable (did not even know ultra marathons existed).
Sundar could be a role model for me too...if not ultra marathon, I will try to finish at least 2-3 full marathons in my life (within 4 hours, lets say)
Thanks once again for the article, and am actually looking forward to the day when I can meet Suresh and get some tips from him
It would have been more useful if the site had given indicative prices for each hotel...but decent list, all the same
Thanks Sums...I just missed the airport at Anna Nagar bus yesterday, and how fortunate! Because I got an MTC bus that took me right next to my home at Rs 10! The luxury bus would have cost me Rs 100.
By the way, calling it a luxury bus is stretching the truth a bit, actually a lot...It was like one of those mini buses that ply on our roads...
All the same, a good initiative...guess, very few people know about it though, because the bus to Egmore still had not departed when I reached the stand, and there was no one inside...the bus driver was desperately trying to get some passengers!
