on 8 months agoThere are 5 sewage treatment plants (STP) that are operating @ Chennai as of 2011. The largest one is @ Kodungaiyur which has the capacity to treat sewage of about 270 million litres per day (MLD) This STP treats sewage generated from areas such as Tondairpet, Washermanpet Royapuram, Purasaiwalkam, Ayanavaram, Perambur, Vyasarpadi, Sembium, Kolathur, Periyar Nagar, Jawahar Nagar and Kodungaiyur etc%u2026 The others STP%u2019s are in Villivakkam with a capacity of 5MLD , Koyambedu with a treatment capacity of 94 mld and treats sewage generated in localities such as T.Nagar, Kodambakkam, Anna Nagar, Virugambakkam and Mogappair. The one @ Nesapakkam has a capacity to treat 63 MLD of sewage and the one @ Perungudi has a capacity of 54 MLD..
